The Career Canon at SPOT
The winners of the 10th anniversary season of the Career Career have been crowned – and will play at the SPT Festival as part of a special Career Canon event.
After listening to the record-high number of submitted tracks (1639 to be exact!) over and over again and seeing many of the bands live, the panel of judges chose The Eclectic Moniker, Kites and Komets, and Boho Dancer. The three bands will play at the Pick-Up Stage on Saturday 28 May in the afternoon from 3 pm to 4.20 pm.
“The winners that we have found this year are something really special. Each band represents something unique and they all possess great courage”, says Carsten Holm (DR – Danish Broadcasting Corporation). “The Eclectic Moniker are irresistible in all their great might with nine band members and their refreshing calypso style. Boho Dancer are quite different – emotional and really honest about the music they play – they are uncompromisingly dedicated to each note and each word. Kites and Komets is a danceable bedroom project that grew too big to stay there. Kites and Komets can unfold as a party machine and end the shoegaze attitudes of indie rock once and for all”, says Carsten Holm, who was part of the group of judges. Boho Dancer already play at SPOT under the name Ida Wenøe (Boho Dancer), so the SPOT crowd will get the chance to see them twice.
