Raw, rattling, reciting and genuine Azerbaijani folk music. “Ashiq” is rooted in Shamanism and means a musician who plays the saz, sings and writes about joy, sorrow, courage and love – a storyteller for the people. Qurban is from Urmiy in Iran. He has dedicated his life to music and makes a living playing concerts and at weddings, parties etc. This is Qurban’s second time around in Aarhus, and he is a definite must at this year’s SPOT.
